(M.A.) Master of Arts course in Education Course (2 years’ duration) is designed to promote the up-to-date knowledge of the field in the light of the Report of U.G.C. Curriculum Review Committee. Special areas of study of the course include Tagore’s Thoughts and Experiments in Education, Research Methodology, Educational Technology, Population Education, Special Education, Economics of Education, Dissertation etc.

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course provides special emphasis on the study of Indian values, cultures and thoughts on education as reflected on the broad canvas of education for "New India". The course is recognised by the Government of West Bengal and (NCTE) National Council for Teacher Education. It gives special emphasis on Tagore’s thoughts and experiments in education, Methodologies of teaching in vocal music, visual arts & computer science etc.

Experiments and researches on different aspects of education are carried out in the department leading to Ph. D. degrees and project working and consultancy services are provided.
